Our partnership with Hugz 4 Haiti and Mission des Églises Baptistes Indépendantes (MEBI) in northwest Haiti is helping 200 primary school students get an excellent start in their education. For the past 10 years, thanks in large part to their exceptional teachers, MEBI's school has averaged a 90% pass rate in government exams. This is particularly significant in the context of the violence and anarchy that is so prevalent right now in Haiti.
Wilmonaise's Story
Wilmonaise is a young woman whose journey with MEBI began when she was a child. At the age of 3 she was brought to MEBI's children's home, where her constant illnesses were of great concern. Thanks to on-going medical attention, Wilmonaise's health improved, and over the years she progressed well through primary and secondary school. Today she is part of MEBI's College Sponsorship Program, and is studying to become a Medical Lab Technician!
